Due to popular demand, the Yachats Academy of Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce a repeat presentation by Greg Scott and his experience in Botswana, Africa and the Okavango Delta. The dramatic slides and video put you up close to the wildlife and natural wonders of this area.
The presentation is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 6:30 PM at the Yachats Commons.
There is no admission charge, but a $5.00 donation is requested to cover publicity expenses. Information is available at GoYachats.com or by calling 541-961-6695.

As if to commemorate the completion of our annual “computational torture,” we woke up April 15th to rainbows from one end of Lincoln County to the other. And true to their mission, News Lincoln County readers were ‘on scene’ to record the grandeur of it all. Many thanks to Doretta Smith, Corinne Newbegin and Belinda Goody for packin’ pixels in their purses and Ken Gagne packin’ his P510.
Island of Bali Elise Jordan’s temporary tour of duty
It’s become customary that News Lincoln County readers contribute beautiful photos to help break up the “news grind” here on the website. And to remain loyal to that dutiful task, no matter where they are in the world, Minnesota/Newport native Elise Jordan continues to do her part to keep us all properly photographically distracted! She’s in Bali where tropical volcanoes rise two miles high from azure blue seas. A nice a gig as anyone could dream of.
