Occupy Newport organizers say the next protest is scheduled for Wednesday, the 26th from 4-6pm at the intersection of Highways 101 and 20.
They ask participants to “please honor the local businesses by not parking in the JC Market parking lot. Please park across the street in the empty lot next to the old car dealership building.”
Following the protest at 6pm, occupy participants are invited to an “Occupy Congress” which will be held at Don Davis Park, at the foot of Olive Street in Nye Beach. There will be discussions about the country’s political and economic conditions and what can be done to improve both.

Occupy Newport invites you to a march and protest on Wednesday, October 19th. The march will be starting from the Don Davis Park in Nye Beach at 4pm. This is to show solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street movement. Please come down and join us.
We will be walking through Nye Beach and up to highway 101 where we will remain at the intersection of route 20 from 4:30-6pm. The march will be on the sidewalk , the route determined by the Occupy Newport General Assembly held on Tuesday the 18th . Occupy Newport has signs, but please bring your own voice and fun signs. Protesters that don’t want to march can meet at the intersection of Hwy 101 and 20 from 4-6pm. Please do not park in the JC parking lot. There is a large lot on the east side of the Hwy for parking.
There will be a general assembly at Don Davis Park after the march at 6:30pm. This will be a time to come together and talk about our Occupy Movement. Please come down and join our growing democracy. This is a local group open to everyone. The group can be contacted at RioDavidson@gmail.com .
