A young toledo man headed north on Business Highway 20 Friday night said he suddenly saw a deer in the road just ahead of him at Dundon. He told a sheriff’s deputy that he swerved to miss the deer but wound up leaving the road as a result. He said he hit a heckuva hole that thoroughly grabbed his right front wheel assembly, raising the rear of the truck high in the air.
No citation – no injuries – but a lesson to be ever-vigilant when driving around coastal Oregon after dark. You never know what will come bounding out of the brush from your left or right.
