Taking local farming and home gardening to the next level

grow the coast

Astoria, Ore.– Farming, food and community resilience are on the agenda at the second annual Grow the Coast conference, on Saturday, November 23 at the Seaside Civic and Convention Center from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The conference offers workshops, resource information and displays on a wide range of food and farming topics,from pasture management and cultivating mushrooms to strategies for purchasing farmland and how to successfully market and sell what you produce. Tractors and farm tools will be on display throughout the day. Keynote speakers will be, Susannah Morgan, CEO of Oregon Food Bank and Garry Stephenson and Lauren Gwin of the OSU Small Farms Program.

Tickets for Grow the Coast cost $20 for an individual, and $35 for two from the same farm or business, with breakfast, lunch and snacks included. Some scholarships are available.
