State Representative David Gomberg, Lincoln City Mayor Dick Anderson, Samaritan NLH CEO Marty Cahill and Bizz Consultant Chris Waugh lend their celebrity to Family Promise
Family Promise of Lincoln County will be hosting the third in a series of Celebrity Server Fundraising events during the launch weekend at the newly re-opened The Lodge at Otter Crest on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 6:00pm. This event features State Representative David Gomberg and local Business Consultant Chris Waugh serving up not only fabulous culinary dishes but wonderful entertainment to earn “tips” on behalf of Family Promise of Lincoln County. The Lodge has welcomed the Celebrities during their Winemaker Dinner which will feature wine parings from Kramer Vineyards and the Flying Dutchman during a family-style multi-course meal.
Previous Celebrity Server events held at The Bay House and Mist at Surftides raised over $6,000 in tips for Family Promise of Lincoln County which featured celebrities, Lincoln City Mayor, Dick Anderson and Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital CEO, Marty Cahill. “These events are so much fun because our celebrities work the room trying to raise as much money as possible” states Linda Roy, interim director for Family Promise. “And, when there are two celebrities the competition is fierce to earn most tips. Some of the antics are great. I’ve seen cajoling, begging, and even singing to earn those tips. It really is a fun time for everyone!”
Family Promise of Lincoln County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization aimed at alleviating child and parent homelessness in Lincoln County through emergency shelter and case management services. The funds raised will be used to support building the infrastructure, partnerships, and renovations to their Day Center which will be located in the old Taft Fire Hall/Community College in Lincoln City.
The Celebrity Server dinner will be during the 6:00pm seating on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at The Lodge at Otter Crest located at 301 Otter Crest Loop, Depoe Bay. RSVP to the Lodge at 541-765-2111 – leave a message for a return confirmation. Cost is $36.00 reserved or $42.00 at the door. The restaurant is also donating a portion of the proceeds from this event to benefit Family Promise of Lincoln County.
Roy continues, “Our community, the “celebrities”, and our hosting restaurants make this event so popular. We can all sit with one another, enjoy a great meal, laugh with the celebrities as they work so hard for those tips, all the while supporting a much needed program in our community. Don’t miss it!”
