Lodge at Otter Crest: Launch Events Nov. 7-9
From The Lodge at Otter Crest

OTTER ROCK – Enjoy three days of spectacular food, drink, art and music at events celebrating the launch of The Lodge at Otter Crest, a new restaurant and lounge at the Inn at Otter Crest in the central Oregon coast community of Otter Rock. Party-goers should expect to sample contemporary coastal Pacific Northwest cuisine, enjoy stupendous views of the Pacific Ocean, see dazzling local art, hear live music by legendary pianist Ric DiBlasi on Thursday, catch a late-night showing of the Mixtape Kids’ new film “Pancho Villa” on Friday, and savor wine pairings during two seatings of the Winemaker Dinner planned for Saturday.

Thursday, November 7
kicks off the three-day launch party with food and drink specials starting at 4 p.m. Local piano legend Ric DiBlasi performs beginning at 6:30 p.m. A professional pianist for more than 30 years, DiBlasi and his wife, Valerie, formerly owned the renowned Italian Riviera in Gleneden Beach, which was famous for its Italian cuisine and piano bar. There’s a $5 cover at the door per person, which goes directly to the artist.

Friday, November 8 is Artist Debut Night, featuring the work of local artist Leighton Blackwell. Preview Blackwell’s work in the Cutler Room, the Lodge’s commission-free art gallery, at 8 p.m., and then catch a 9 p.m. showing of “Pancho Villa,” by local artist group the Mixtape Kids, in the ballroom, with a DJ party and dancing to follow. Ticket price is $5 per person, which includes the movie screening; ticket proceeds go directly to the artists.

Saturday, November 9 features two seatings of a Winemaker Dinner which pairs the cuisine of Lodge Chef Randy Cobb with white wines from Kramer Vineyards and red wines from the Flying Dutchman Winery. Winemakers Trudy Kramer and Dick Cutler are on hand to discuss in depth the wines and the foods to pair with them. Two limited seatings are available, at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.; cost for the dinner is $36 advance or $42 at the door per person, which includes four courses and the accompanying wine pairings. A percentage of the proceeds benefits Family Promise of Lincoln County.

The Lodge at Otter Crest is located in Otter Rock, eight miles north of Newport and 15 miles south of Depoe Bay, at the Inn at Otter Crest, an oceanfront resort hotel with 35 acres of pristine forested and landscaped grounds, striking ocean views, nature trails, tide pools teeming with life and access to Otter Crest Beach with its resident harbor seals.
