When disaster strikes, are you someone who snaps into action and starts surviving and helping others to survive too, or will you be that crazy person standing in the middle of the street screaming because that’s all you know how to do when disaster strikes?
The North Lincoln Fire and Rescue folks in Lincoln City hope you’re the former, not the latter. And they’re available to make sure you’re the hero and not a victim that needs saving from their own lack of preparedness.
A new manual on how to survive a flood, earthquake, tsunami or wildfire has just hit the streets, courtesy of Chinook Winds Casino Resort who provided a generous grant for the 4th Edition printing of “Severe Event Training.” And North Lincoln Fire and Rescue personnel come with it! They’ll take you, your group, agency or other organization through step by step procedures to be prepared, and more step by step procedures to better cope with a disaster for you, your family and your neighborhood. They offer sixty minutes of the “good stuff” that will help ensure that you rise above anything Mother Nature throws at us. And Mother Nature’s got a big box of “nasties” at her disposal.
The big SET manual is already in the hands of many public officials, teachers and other educators. There are many more that should be distributed and frequently referred to up and down every street in north Lincoln County.
To schedule a SET presentation for a group of families, neighborhood, business or business association just call Captain Jim Kusz at North Lincoln Fire and Rescue at 541-961-2233, or JKusz@NLFR.Org by email.
