On October 15, 2013, LINT detectives with the assistance of Salem DEA stopped a vehicle in the Van Duzer Corridor Rest Area on Highway 18 near Lincoln City. Investigators contacted RICARDO HERNANDEZ, age 45, and his 19-year old daughter. During the contact, information was provided that methamphetamine would be found in his other vehicle driven by his wife in Lincoln City. Detectives located the other vehicle and subsequently seized over 3 ounces of methamphetamine and a quarter ounce of cocaine.
A search warrant served at the HERNANDEZ residence in Lincoln City led to the seizure of evidence related to the delivery of methamphetamine and a large amount of cash. RICARDO HERNANDEZ was arrested and lodged in the Lincoln County Jail for Unlawful Possession, Delivery, and Manufacture of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine, and Unlawful Delivery and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cocaine.
As part of the ongoing investigation, on October 16, LINT detectives, Toledo Police Department and a Newport Police K-9 officer contacted BRANDY DELYNN WIRTH, age 31, near her Toledo residence and found she was in possession of a half-ounce of methamphetamine. She was arrested and lodged in the Lincoln County Jail for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine.
LINT is comprised of members from the Lincoln City Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Newport Police Department, Oregon State Police, and Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office. The investigation is continuing.
