Starting in February, military veterans who live in Lincoln City won’t have to drive all the way to Newport to get primary medical care. The county health and human services department has announced that the county and the VA have teamed up to provide primary medical care for veterans at a facility at the corner of Highway 101 and East Devils Lake Road, immediately north of 101.
The February 2014 launch is expected to serve at least 240 veterans from the new facility at 4422 NE Devil’s Lake Boulevard.
You must be a qualified Veteran in the VA Health Care System. If you are not presently enrolled for VA Health Care, call 541 574-6955 and set up an appointment or just walk in and take a “first come, first served” ticket (sic). Bring a legible copy of your DD 214/Discharge Document.
If you are a Service Connected Disabled Veteran, bring a copy of your Decision Letter that granted your award. If you have none of the above, just come into the office at 611 SW Hurbert, Suite C, Newport.
For more information, veterans families can call Lincoln County Veterans Service Office John Reed at 541-574-6955 or JReed@Co.Lincoln.US by email.
