The Porthole players are looking for 6 strong energetic singer/actors to fill the roles for Porthole Players upcoming musical production of “I Love You Because.” It is a modern day musical love story by Joshua Salzman and Ryan Cunningham, directed By Erik Furuheim with musical direction by Howard Lackey. Performance dates will be Feb 14th thru March 16th for 10 performances.
Auditions will be held at the Performing Arts Center in Newport, at 777 W Olive St.
Start time is 12pm on October 19, 2013 with call backs on October 20th at 12pm. Call backs are invitation only. Please bring a current headshot and resume if you have them and bring a prepared song either from the show or a piece that showcases your best singing voice. If your audition song is not one from the show please bring the sheet music for our accompanist. Sides will be provided at the time of audition.

I LOVE YOU BECAUSE is a modern twist on Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice , set in New York City. A young, uptight greeting card writer’s life is changed when he meets a flighty photographer. Along with their eccentric friends and siblings, they learn to love each other not in spite of their faults, but because of them.
