TOWN HALL MEETING TO EXPLORE CONCERNS REGARDING THE LOG EXPORT TERMINAL
Everyone is invited to a Town Hall meeting to explore the implications of exporting raw logs from Yaquina Bay to overseas markets.
What are the costs of the project to our community? How would the community benefit? How would this project affect Jobs? Tourism? The Environment? Traffic?
The meeting will take place at 6:30 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in the meeting room at the Central Public Utilities Dept. Building, located at 2129 N. Coast Highway (US 101) in Newport.
The Town Hall will feature presentations from four expert panelists:
· Roy Keene : Forestry Consultant
· Greg Pallesen : VP, Oregon Pulp and Paper Mill Workers’ Union
· Elizabeth Swager : Director of Oregon Fair Trade
· Paul Cienfuegos : Lead organizer of the Oregon Community Rights
Ample time will be provided following the presentations for questions and community discussion.
This Town Hall is organized and presented by CSALT – Citizens Seeking Alternatives to Log Terminals.
