A Toledo man received 70 months in prison as a sentence for brutally assaulting his girlfriend in early June at a residence on North Main in Toldeo.
After the assault that inflicted serious injuries on his girlfriend, the woman was transported to PCH in Newport while deputies and police began a manhunt for Matthew Kaehn.
They didn’t have to look far. They found him hiding in some blackberry bushes just north of the residence. He was quickly apprehended, cuffed, and taken to the county jail where he was booked for two counts of assault, six counts of menacing and one count of harrassment.
In court this week, Kaehn pleaded guilty to second degree Assault for which he’ll be initially incarcerated at the Oregon State Prison in Salem. His 70 month sentence means he’ll remain behind bars for just under six years.
