First Christian Church of Newport is hosting a screening of a documentary entitled “The Pink Room” this coming Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at 6:30pm.
The Pink Room is a look at the ongoing efforts to fight child sex trafficking in southeast Asia. It follows the journey of a girl named Mien and other young girls in the turbulent world of sex slavery in Svay Pak, a village just eleven kilometers outside the capitol of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. Most people are unaware of the fact that right now there are more enslaved, world-wide, than there ever have been at any previous time in recorded history. The Pink Room is about one organization’s efforts to change this terrible statistic.
First Christian Church is located at 809 SE Second Street (across from the Elks and the NHS Softball Field). The screening is at 6:30pm and admission is free. The trailer can be seen at www.thepinkroommovie.com
