There are those among us who understand that there is such a thing as the natural beauty of the United States of America, Oregon in particular, whose enjoyment and spiritual enrichment transcends any political dysfunction in Washington DC.
And in that vein, locals and visitors alike decided to, in effect, “damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead,” parked their vehicles at the Yaquina Head Natural area and walked in. They stepped over the gate that said no one was to cross. Sometimes it’s best to follow your heart than obey a darn sign. Similar tactics were employed at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
