Recent college graduate with a bachelors degree in criminal justice, Brittney Crocker was sworn in Wednesday night as Toledo’s newest police officer and is said to be only the third lady officer ever on the force. Police Chief David Enyeart said Officer Crocker was clearly the best of about 50 applicants for the job. Chief Enyeart said Crocker tested as a top performer in all testing categories and that she’ll do real well.
Officer Crocker is a native of Philomath and went to college here in Oregon. Chief Enyeart says Officer Crocker has served as a reserve officer at a couple of police agencies in Benton County.
Chief Enyeart says Officer Crocker will soon be off for nearly four months of intensive law enforcement training at the State Department of Public Safety Standards and Training in Salem. When she returns sometime right after the first of the year, she’ll receive additional training and familiarization with the town from a Toledo Police Field Training Officer.
