The campaign to help abused children and their families in Lincoln county continues in part by efforts of Walmart and radio station KSHL.
WalMart and KSHL 97.5 FM radio have partnered in support of the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC). “CAC Sacks” at the Newport WalMart contain items needed by the Center in order to better help abused children. The grocery sacks contain nutritious snacks, juices, art therapy supplies, journals, puzzles, toys, hats, scarves, gloves and other items chosen by the Center. Sacks are located at the Wall of Giving by the check-out stands. Prices range from $5.00 – $50.00 each. All you need to do is pick a sack and pay for it when checking-out. The Center receives the sack the next day. This project began two months ago, and the community has already donated over $1,500 worth of needed items. You are making a difference in these children’s lives.
KSHL 97.5 FM is running announcements throughout each day to encourage the community to support the Center and the “CAC Sacks” project. And, Bigfoot Beverages generously donated the banner for the Wall of Giving.
The Center provides forensic interviews and medical evaluations conducted by specially trained professionals and intervention services including child and family support and counseling. The Center provides specialized mental health treatment for child abuse victims which have a proven track record of success for victims of trauma. All services provided at the Center are FREE to the families.
