Devils Lake remains heavy with visible algae scum – human swimming discouraged. NO dog or cat contact with it either.
A just released report from the Devils Lake Water Improvement District indicates that, under current conditions, swimming in Devils Lake could be hazardous to human health as well as for their pets. Swimming off the Regatta grounds is especially hazardous, according to the report.
Other heavy scum from algae blooms are also reported at Holmes Road Park, K Street in Neotsu, Sand Point, NE Arm and East Thumb. Scum is classified as “Moderate” is reported at the D River Station, at the Campground, East Devils Lake Park, Mid-Lake, NW Arm and at Southern End.
