The Nature Conservancy invites all those interested in protecting the Cascade Head Preserve to to join a volunteer work party Saturday, September 28th. Located near Lincoln City, Cascade Head is a coastal promontory overlooking the Pacific Ocean that provides critical habitat for native prairie grasses, rare wildflowers, the threatened Oregon Silverspot butterfly and the Cascade Head catchfly.
Volunteers will be removing invasive Queen Anne’s lace during this work party. The project includes a four to five-mile roundtrip hike with elevation gain and may require volunteers to hike off trail and stand on uneven ground while working.
Please bring hiking shoes, a daypack, lunch and snacks, a full water bottle, layers of clothing to be prepared for any weather–including rain gear and a hat and sunscreen. Also bring gloves, if you have them–if not, we have gloves for you to borrow.
Registration is required. For more information (gathering spot and time) and to register, please contact (503) 802-8100 or firstname.lastname@example.org or the alternate contact; Debbie Pickering at (541) 994-5564.
