Update Saturday evening: NewsLincolnCounty.com received a message from a Lincoln City resident that the couple’s gratitude has been delivered to the individual in question. The man who went door to door rousting people up while screaming “FIRE!” indicated he is very happy that the people got out alive. The man says he prefers to remain anonymous.

=====================

NewsLincolnCounty.com received a request to run a “Thank You” message from a couple who were staying at the Sea Gypsy the night of the recent fire. They want to thank a man who woke them up from their sleep so that they could escape the roaring flames.

We were in Unit 307 the night of the fire at the Sea Gypsy.

There was a hero that night and I would like to see him recognized in your webpaper. Is there some way to find him to let him know that he saved lives that night? He was walking by and saw the flames. Apparently he called it in and started running, pounding on doors and yelling GET OUT – FIRE! His voice carried and we leaped out of bed.

Without him I think there would have been more serious consequences that night. If you can find him, please let him know that we are grateful and won’t forget him.

Thanks for your help with this. If you have time please let me know if you find him. Thanks in advance.

Barbara and Ken Flett
