COFFEE CONCERTS RETURN TO THE LCCC, SEPT. 22 TO FEATURE ROCKFISH TREATS AND SEDONA FIRE
LINCOLN CITY – The Lincoln City Cultural Center is proud to announce the return of the Coffee Concerts, Sunday matinee concerts made even sweeter with the addition of coffee, tea and dessert. The first program of the 2013-14 Coffee Concert season, featuring the world folk fusion band called the Sedona Fire Band, is set for 3 pm Sunday, Sept. 22.
The Sedona Fire Band features rich vocal harmony, guitar, flute, trumpet, cello, keyboard, and hand percussion. Sedona Torres and Michael Dinan have been singing and performing together since they fell in love in 2009, and their intricate vocal harmonies are at the heart of this special group. Sedona’s crystal clear voice and Michael’s soulful baritone blend together beautifully. They recorded their first CD, “The Spark” in 2011 and are currently at work recording a second CD “Pages of the Mind.”
Since 2011, Sedona and Michael have been joined by two other musical couples, Bob La Torre and his wife Renee Delight La Torre, who brought trumpet and cello to the mix, and Chuck and Barbara McLaughlin, who make a dynamic hand percussion duo together. Seasoned professional Fred Lackaff completes this eclectic musical stew with his classy keyboard mastery. The Sedona Fire Band, based in Manzanita, is a favorite of the north coast festival scene.
Tickets for the Sept. 22 concert are $10 each, on sale now at the LCCC. Admission includes a dessert by Rockfish Bakery and coffee by the Cape Foulweather Coffee Company.
These Coffee Concerts, organized by Rita Warton, offer regional musicians of all ages a chance to perform while raising money for the center’s operating fund. Since the project began in 2012, Warton and her musical friends have raised more than $2,500 for the LCCC.
