ROCKFISH BAKERY CAFÉ BENEFIT DINNER FOR OREGON COAST CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY
Submitted by: Laurel Young, OCCMS

As a non-profit organization that features acclaimed classical musicians, Oregon Coast Chamber Music Society hosts at least one fundraiser per year to help cover concert expenses. This year OCCMS presented its first benefit concert with a silent auction.

One of the most popular auction items was “Dinner for 8” in the beautiful ocean-view home of Pete and Rosemary Tuana in Depoe Bay. Bid winners of this donation eagerly anticipated the fine dining event! The gourmet six-course Italian dinner prepared by chefs Danelle Lochrie and Ethan Granberg of the Rockfish Bakery Café in Lincoln City was worth the four-month wait. The talented couple donated their versatile culinary talent and closed their restaurant for a day to work in the well-equipped kitchen of the Tuanas, the popular and gracious hosts who served the delicious meal to their attending guests and friends.

The “Dinner for 8” menu included chefs’ original recipes made with fresh ingredients donated by Barnacle Bill’s Seafoods in Lincoln City, Corvus Landing Farm in Neskowin, and E-Z Way Farm in Neotsu producing a heavenly appetizer platter of smoked salmon, olives, homemade bread, pickles, and two-year-old Tillamook cheddar cheese. It was followed by steamer clams in a fennel broth, browned butter and sage gnocchi over cauliflower puree with pesto, green salad with cherry white wine vinaigrette, King salmon with shrimp beurre blanc, bay shrimp, green beans and hazelnuts, and fresh peach and almond gallette. Wine and champagne, romantic music, ocean view sunset, and festive coastal table setting all enhanced this memorable occasion.

The generosity of the Tuanas, the Rockfish Bakery Café, and the guests and businesses who donated to the OCCMS fundraiser assures there will be another season of excellent in-home classical chamber music concerts with world-class musicians to offer the Oregon Coast community.
