NONPROFIT GRANT FUND AND FOR-PROFIT MARKETING FUND CHANGES

Those who put on special events in Lincoln City during the year, either for-profit or non-profit need to read this!
Two funds exist within the Visitor and Convention Bureau Budget: $100,000 annually for Non-Profit Organizations to produce events and $100,000 annually for marketing partnerships with For-Profit Organizations to promote events. During the past couple of years there have been no application deadlines. Adverse complications from that have resulted in the Visitor & Convention Committee to set new deadlines of January 2 and July 1, each year, commencing January 2, 2014. All applications for funding of future events must meet those deadlines, except for events that would be prejudiced by having to abide by the sudden deadlines.
The Visitor and Convention Committee will accept applications at the first meeting after the deadlines, which is the second Monday of that month, and will make every effort to make a decision at the meeting.
The kinds of projects which will be considered, subject to the guidelines applicable to each fund, include but are not limited to special events, facility development or improvement, program development, signage, video production, attraction development, promotional materials, advertising or operations expenses which furthers tourism to Lincoln City, directly benefiting the economy, culture, and image of the City. All projects must comply with state law regulating use of transient room tax.
Applications are generally good for one year, and the closing dates are now January 2 and July 1.
