Toledo: Main Street Merchants Collecting School Supplies for Underpriviledged Students Returning to School
School supply drive by Toledo’s Main Street Merchants
Main Street merchants in Toledo are coordinating a school supply drive for underprivileged children who will be attending Toledo schools this year.
Collection boxes, which were generously provided by Timbers Restaurant, have been placed in several locations, including Pig Feathers BBQ, Gracie Mae’s, Sharon’s Hair Care, Smoke ‘n Shop, Things Found Mercantile, Timbers Restaurant, The Gallery, Gallery Briseño, Quilters Cottage, SolaLuna Gallery, Main Street Mercantile, Bear Mountain Outfitters, Main Street Café, Abel’s Insurance, Fairchild’s Barber Shop, FTR, Oregon Coast Bank, and Bank of the West.
Donors are asked to check school supply lists at retail outlets to be certain that the supplies purchases fit within the schools’ guidelines.
The donation boxes will be collected on Friday, September 6 from 5-8 pm during the “Rock the Block” street party being organized by S. Main Street merchants.
