The video really says it all, but here’s more if you could possibly need any more encouragement to go:
LINCOLN CITY – Singer/songwriter Jeanne Jolly broke onto the music scene six years ago, as the featured vocalist for Grammy Award winning jazz trumpeter Chris Botti. Touring all through North America, she had the opportunity to sing with world renowned symphonies and perform at venues like Carnegie Hall and play marquee events such as the Monterey Jazz Festival.
Now, “Jeanne Jolly from Raleigh” (North Carolina) has her own band, and they’re spending August on the road, touring the Northwest. They’re making just one stop in Oregon and, luckily for Oregon Coast fans of lyrical country and Americana music, that one gig will be at the Lincoln City Cultural Center on Tuesday, Aug. 20. Doors will open at 6:30 pm, with the show to start at 7 pm.
Tickets are $15 in advance, $17 at the door, on sale now at the center or over the phone, 541-994-9994. If you get the recording, leave a message and a box office staffer will call you back to confirm. Visa and Mastercard are happily accepted.
With her unmistakable signature voice, Jeanne Jolly is carving out music without boundaries that pulls from her classical training and folk sensibility. Audiences all over the U.S. are becoming impressed with her songwriting, her strong country belt and her ability to quickly shift to the dusky lilt of Allison Krauss combined with sophisticated jazz phrasing. Jolly plays acoustic guitar and baritone ukulele, too. She’s touring now with Chris Boerner, 8-string guitar, and Nick Baglio, on drums & keys.
