North End Senior Solutions, also known as NESS, is a new nonprofit whose mission is to help seniors fulfill their desire to live independently. Thank you, United Way of Benton and Lincoln Counties for your generous support.
With United Way’s funding, we continue to reach out to the Lincoln County community, educating and supporting seniors and their families. United Way specifically supports our respite program, the “NESS Club.” The Club is an adult day service that entertains and engages seniors and people with disabilities (including those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias) while their caregivers take some time off.
The NESS Club demonstrates that socialization and stimulating physical and mental activities contribute to the well-being of all humans. Participants eat better, sleep better, have fewer behavior problems, and some use fewer medications.
In our two short years of operation, sixteen participants and their families have benefited from this program. Over 40 volunteers and staff, mostly seniors, have reaped the benefits of being involved in the social interactions and the gourmet lunches. This is how we nurture the vitality of our community.
We offer our gratitude and ask the Lincoln County community to continue contributing to the United Way.
