Update from Oregon State Police: Thursday 12:47pm
A Lincoln City woman is facing charges following an alcohol-involved injury traffic crash that occurred late Wednesday night along Highway 229 about ten miles south of Lincoln City.
On Wednesday night, at approximately 11:32 p.m., a 1991 Geo Metro driven by DEANA M. KETOLA, age 24, from Lincoln City, was northbound on Highway 229 near milepost 9 when it traveled off the highway, spun around and came to rest on its side on the highway shoulder.
KETOLA was transported by ambulance to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Subsequent investigation indicates alcohol was a contributing factor and KETOLA was cited to appear in Lincoln County Circuit Court for DUII, Reckless Driving, and Driving Uninsured.
A young woman driving on Highway 229 about ten miles south of Highway 101 for some reason lost control of her little red compact car late Wednesday, which rolled and came to rest on its passenger side.
The driver was found outside the vehicle, leading first responders to suspect that she had been thrown from the vehicle. As it turned out she wasn’t. She had managed to crawl out on her own.
The young lady was loaded into an ambulance and transported to North Lincoln Hospital for treatment of her injuries. No word yet on why the driver lost control. Highway 229 was blocked for at least a couple of hours while OSP investigators ascertained, from the evidence, what happened.
