Dancing Moon Press is pleased to announce the release of eight new books, including two by local writers.
“When Dreams and Fears Collide: The true story of the 1986 Upper Yangtze River Expedition,” by Jan Warren of Gleneden Beach, is the only first-person account of this historic endeavor between China and the United States, which opened China to the sport of whitewater rafting. Legal battles and lawsuits forced expedition co-leader Jan Warren into silence, but now, after 25 years, she goes on record to tell the story of the risks taken in pursuit of this dream. The book is illustrated with 104 photos and contains links to Mutual of Omaha videos taken during the expedition.
“Come Journey With Me: A collection of memoir short stories,” by Connie Hildebrand of Newport, is a lively collection of brutally honest short stories told with self-deprecating wit. The stories span the 84 years between Connie Hilldebrand’s birth in Iowa, nursing school in St. Louis, marriage to Don and their return from Colorado to Iowa where she lived, worked as a registered nurse, restored a 100-year-old farmhouse, and raised three children. After Don’s death, Connie began a new life in Newport, a queen who lived happily ever after in a land that was far, far away from her first home.
“Come Journey With Me” is available in paperback (312 pages with photographs) direct from the author at email@example.com.
The other six new book releases include “On the backs of seahorses’ eyes: Journey of a man through time” by Don Cauble; “Rumi & Lily: An Internet Love Story” by Penelope Scambly Schott & Jean Anaporte; “Breaking Free” a novel by Arlene Pascal; “Music to Murder by: A Scott Michael Murphy Novel (as told by Jan Calendar)” by Susan Springer Munger; “Business Tax Essentials for the Entrepreneur” by David Bruck; and “I love you today” poems by John Dresen.
