SHERIFF UNVEILS NEW APP
Sheriff Dennis Dotson is pleased to announce a new smart phone application for Apple and Android phones and tablets alike. The new app is made available at no cost to law enforcement agencies who are members of Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE).
VINE is a free service to victims in Oregon through the Oregon Department of Justice. Victims can check the status of an offender anytime of the day or night or register to receive immediate notification if an offender is released, transferred, escapes, dies, or if there is other important probation and parole information.
The new product called Mobile Patrol is a free app provided by Appriss, Inc. and can be downloaded from the HYPERLINK “https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mobilepatrol/id620067490?mt=8” Apple App Store or HYPERLINK “https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?shva=1” \l “inbox” Google Play Store. After loading and opening the app, you simply select Oregon from the menu and then select Lincoln County. There are five windows or pages.
The first page includes the following icons:
Detention Center – Who’s in jail. You can search alphabetically or by name. It also lists recent bookings into the jail. Photographs will be added in the not too distant future.
Victim Notification – VINE search tool for victims of crimes.
Directory – Directory of your Sheriff’s Office.
Crime Tips – Report suspected non-life threatening criminal activity.
Alerts – Emergency alerts for Lincoln County will be listed here.
Facility Location – Map indicating the S.O. location and directions to the office.
The second page is for Wanted Persons and will be a service we hope to provide in the future.
The third page lists inmate services for attorneys and bail bonds. Oregon does not permit bail bond operations in the state. A list of attorneys practicing in Lincoln County who choose to be listed may be provided in the future.
The fourth page includes the following icons:
News – News releases from your Sheriff’s Office.
