This week Laura Young Kriz, a Public Outreach employee of Dahl & Dahl Inc, and Ideal Storage presented the Toledo Police Department with a $200 check as a donation to the Toledo Police Department Youth Explorer Program.
This donation will be used to purchase much needed equipment to support the activities of the Toledo Police Department Youth Explorers.
Law Enforcement Explorers are youth volunteers, many of whom are still in High School. These youth volunteer their valuable time to assist our community with numerous activities, including major city-wide events like the Toledo Summer Festival and the Siletz Pow-Wow as well as important community service events like National Night Out and Safety Fairs.
“It’s imperative that our youth have positive role models”, said Sgt. Bob Ruark of the Toledo Police Department. “Our explorer program is an integral part of Police Chief Dave Enyeart’s community policing philosophy”, Ruark said, “I encourage any youth who have an interest in pursuing a career in law enforcement to become a Law Enforcement Explorer. It’s how a lot of Police Officers, including myself, got started in professional law enforcement,”
“I would like to thank Dahl & Dahl Inc and Idea Storage for supporting our community youth and the Toledo Law Enforcement Explorer program”, said Sergeant Bob Ruark.
For more information on becoming a Toledo Law Enforcement Explorer, contact Officer Michael Pace (Explorer Advisor) at the Toledo Police Department, 541-336-5555.
