Dig Into Reading! with storysinger Brad Clark
Lincoln County’s public libraries’ Dig Into Reading! summer reading programs start storysinger Brad Clark Wednesday and Thursday, June 26 and 27. All children and families are invited to attend one of these free programs.
Wednesday, June 26, the music and storytelling show will be at Waldport Public Library (10 a.m.), Newport Public Library (1 p.m.), and Driftwood Public Library in Lincoln City (6:30 p.m.).
On Thursday, June 27, he will be at Toledo Public Library (11 a.m.) and Siletz Public Library (1 p.m.) Clark’s Lincoln County shows are funded by Ready to Read grants from the Oregon State Library and the Lincoln County Library District. His lodging is provided by Newport’s Sylvia Beach Hotel and D’Sands Motel in Lincoln City.
Clark says, “I discovered the world of performing stories and music for kids in 2008 when I was lucky enough to join the Children’s Room staff at the Wilsonville Public Library. I just couldn’t get enough of it! I love reading books, telling stories, singing songs and dancing with my own kids as well as any others I meet”.
“This is the first time he has performed in Lincoln County,” says Rebecca Cohen, Newport Library’s children’s librarian, “but he has a sterling reputation amongst Oregon librarians for being a gifted musician and storyteller. What people like most about him is how effortlessly he gets his audience involved in the show.”
