Run the Ocean’s Edge 5K
Registration is now open for the annual Ocean’s Edge 5K fun run/walk, set for low tide Saturday, July 13.
This event, one of the only all-beach runs on the central Oregon coast, starts and finishes on the sand behind Kyllo’s Seafood & Grill, off Northwest 1st Street in Lincoln City. The race is open to runners and walkers of all ages, and dogs are welcome, too (just don’t forget a leash and refuse bag!)
Beach conditions are perfect this summer for the out-and-back course. Lucky participants might even run across a left-over glass float from this winter’s “Finders Keepers” program.
The race begins at 9 a.m. sharp. Keepsake glass floats will be awarded to the top male and female finishers, and ribbons will be given to the top three finishers in each age division. And continuing past tradition, a random drawing for restaurant gift certificates will be conducted following the race. All participants are eligible for the drawing.
Registration is $15 per person (or $25 per person with shirt) prior to July 7; or $20 per person ($30 with shirt) on race day. Day of race registration begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends promptly at 8:45 a.m.
On line registration is available at www.getmeregistered.com or stop by or call the Lincoln City Community Center, 541-994-2131.
