With an expected 1.5 MILLION TONS enroute to the U.S. from the 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami, the U.S. Congress is poised to financially help West Coast states cope with retieving and disposing of a major part of that debris field.
The Japanese government issued three million dollars in aid to West Coast states but it isn’t likely to nearly cover the costs of removing tsunami debris over the next ten years. So Congress possibly stepping in is welcome news, indeed.
