Provided by Thursday Toledo Street Market
True to its motto “Everything Under the Sun”, the first Thursday Toledo Street Market was held under sunny skies with 35 starting vendors selling everything imaginable. Over 60 vendors are expected at future markets. Sales were brisk as a winters worth of handcrafting, jewelry making, art, photography, needlework and recipe perfecting was displayed. Shoppers were eager to visit favorite merchants on Main Street to see what was new and discover loads of new items at new Market sites as well.
The next Toledo Thursday Street Market will feature two vendors who are familiar to many. Eunice Chavez of Unique Creations specializes in fabulous bedazzled watches. Three generations are the designing force behind the glamorous, sometimes whimsical timepieces. Eunice became aware of how meaningful custom beaded watches were when presented with one celebrating her winning battle with cancer in 2010. She especially loves making bracelets and watches for other cancer survivors.
Deanna Cook and Betty Wishon have been dazzling shoppers with their needlework artistry for years. Add fresh baked goods as well and the smiles never stopped. Deanna and Betty are pleased their efforts are increasing community involvement and involvement is something they know about. A portion of their proceeds is donated to The Abundant Life Center to support youth programs and forty-five missions around the world.
The Thursday Toledo Street Market starts at 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM every Thursday through September 26, 2013. Special programs start at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM and run approximately 30 minutes. The Market accepts Oregon Trail cards and SNAP Benefits courtesy of Chinook Winds and the 10 Rivers Food Web.
