Pinterest. Facebook. LinkedIn. Twitter. Foursquare. The list of social media from which business owners much choose continues to grow.
Does it make sense for your business to maintain an equal presence across all these platforms, or do you have more to gain by focusing your online marketing efforts more narrowly?
On Tuesday, June 11, the Small Business Development Center at Oregon Coast Community College will present a free evening seminar designed to help you simplify your life, and maximize the impact of your online outreach.
The workshop will be held from 6:30 to 9 pm at the Newport OCCC Campus, at 400 SE College Way in South Beach.
Misty Lambrecht, the SBDC’s technology instructor and a Google-certified trainer, will lead the discussion.
“For different industries and different groups of people, some social media networks are better than others,” Lambrecht said. “For example, the chances of a plumber finding a plumbing job on LinkedIn are next to nil. Meanwhile, for artists, a presence on Pinterest might make a lot of sense.” Misty’s free workshop will help you decide which networks are best suited to your business’ needs.
Among other topics to be discussed include online advertising options, to supplement local ad spending. “We’ll talk a little about Google’s AdWords, Facebook ads and other options,” Lambrecht said. “Which, if any, is best for your business? What about Bing, and other advertising options?”
Before they spend a lot of money into any online advertising platform, Misty will show participants how to use free web traffic tools to measure where their business is coming from now, so that they can be better equipped to plan if and where to spend ad dollars to increase that online traffic.
