Saturday at Newport City Hall you’ll find the greens are plentiful, the flowers are lovely and they’ve even got strawberries in May! In May! Is there nothing that hoop and greenhouses can’t do under the moderate climes of beautiful green Oregon!? Fresh breads from Pacific Sourdough too!
The Newport Farmers Market set up quite a spread last weekend at the south end of City Hall, there at Angle and Highway 101. All kinds of fun food and tasty goodies guaranteed to please. Not only food but arts, photography and wide ranging crafts. Some contemporary, some that harkens back to Haight Ashbury. Don’t forget to stop by the Lemonade Project stand where fresh squeeze lemonade is offered for a paltry amount – all to help raise funds for those who are having a tough time during this five year recession trying to make ends meet and are still having to rely on their SNAP cards. There’s a food bonus every time they use it, thanks to funds from the Lemonade Project.
So, do yourself a very healthy favor. Swing by the Newport Farmers Market Saturday, May 18th, from 9-1. It’s fun and it’s good for you too!!
