Lincoln City Police Receive Grant For Pedestrian Safety
Your Lincoln City Police Department is pleased to announce they have been awarded a traffic safety grant in the amount of $1850.00 dollars, which will be used for conducting pedestrian safety enforcement operations in the city. The grant enables the Lincoln City Police Department to highlight the importance of pedestrian safety through crosswalk enforcement operations, and will be used between June and September. Pamphlets regarding crosswalk laws will be handed out during the enforcement operations and at other events and are available to the public at the police department.
The primary focus of the pedestrian safety enforcement operations is to raise pedestrian safety awareness. Using a decoy pedestrian, the Lincoln City Police Department hopes to raise awareness of drivers and pedestrians through education and enforcement of pedestrian right of way laws. Warning signs will be posted prior to entering the pedestrian safety operation zones.
