It was the 3rd Annual Ye Merrie Greenwood at Glastonbury Faire On Mothers’ Day Weekend at the Port of Toledo Town Commons on the Yaquina River.
Ye Merrie Greenwood Players presented their 3rd Annual Ye Merrie Greenwood at Glastonbury Faire in Toledo this past weekend. The Faire is set in the year 1585 as a celebration for the arrival of Elizabeth I who is visiting Glastonbury Cathedral.
The local residents created this presentation to entertain the Queen. They brought together entertainment, wares and food to delight the Queen. Although humble, they are very pleased with their offering. The Faire featured 4 Stages, a Tourney Field and several interactive exhibits. Performances included Armored Fighters, Period Dancers, Madrigal Singers, Period Musicians, and Theatre presentations. There are Merchant Booths selling the type of items that Shakespeare would have found quite usual for the day.
