North Lincoln Fire and Rescue Captain Roger Williamson lost his home to fire Monday night. Public Information and Safety Captain Jim Kusz said they got the call shortly after 9pm that Capt. Williamson’s home in the 6-thousand block of Salmonberry Lane was on fire.
Upon arrival, crews saw the home was fully engulfed in flame and that there wasn’t much they could do to save it as they watched 35 foot flames roar up from inside the structure.
At one point there was concern that the fire could spread beyond the home, which prompted putting a U.S. Forest Service firefighting crew on alert. But North Lincoln Firefighters managed to keep a lid on it.
Captain Kusz said the home was a complete loss, but fortunately it was insured. No word yet on a cause. A fund has been set up for Captain Williamson at all branches of US Bank to help him deal with the disaster.
