You may have heard of the organization called Altrusa, but do you know who we are and what we do?
We are a non-profit group, dedicated to improve the health and literacy of women and children of Lincoln County.
If you’d like to learn more about our work, join us for a fun informational social on May 1st at 5:30 at Mo’s Annex (on the Bay Front). Some of the projects that Altrusa has been involved in are dental programs in local schools, Oregon Coast Community College scholarships for women, Project School Bell, which provides prescriptions, clothes and school supplies and hygiene for needy students. Altrusa also provides financial support for CASE, CPG, My Sister’s Place, Samaritan House, and other organization that support children, women and literacy.
You may be familiar with some of our dun fundraisers like the Trivia Bee or Altrusa Garage Sale. We team up for each event and fundraiser and have a good time.
Altrusa of Yaquina Bay has been active in the community since 1982 and they are affiliated with Altrusa International, Inc. You may find out more about the International group at www.altrusa.com or www.altrusa.org for both Yaquina Bay and other district 12 information which comprises of 26 clubs in Washington, Oregon Montana and British Columbia, Canada.
