Benefit auction, dinner and concert tonight to benefit Jersey Sutton, 8. Family has big medical bills.
Tonight will be a chance for the Waldport community to pull together to help a stressed family pay some heavy medical bills racked up by the recent illness of their young daughter. Jersey Sutton, 8, a third grader at Crestview Heights School, has been battling medical issues involving her brain and pancreas which has turned her single mom’s checking account inside out. Jersey’s mom Lisa says they survived several medical emergencies spanning the middle part of last year but now that she’s better the bills are due. But because of a change in her employer’s medical insurance a lot of the bills aren’t covered. It’s a common dilemma and it has hit Lisa Sutton and her three daughters very hard.
The benefit for Jersey is coming up later today (Saturday) at the Moose Lodge in Waldport. The Lodge is located at 250 NW John Street, at the corner of John and Spring. A silent auction begins at 3pm for all kinds of goodies including entertainment and recreation opportunities. Then at 6pm, a big spaghetti feast is launched with live music followed by live music from “Bucket List” and “Kilter.”
If you can’t make it to the fundraiser, you can donate to the Jersey Sutton Contribution account at ANY credit union. It’s officially listed at OSU Federal Credit Union under the heading JERSEY SUTTON CONTRIBUTION ACCOUNT.
