Dear Friends of the Newport Symphony Orchestra,
I want to invite you to a very special concert to support our wonderful Newport Symphony. The NSO is hosting the magnificent University of Utah Wind Ensemble Tuesday, March 12 at the Newport Performing Arts Center (PAC). Proceeds from this concert support the NSO.
The University of Utah Wind Ensemble is an award winning and highly select group of sixty of the best wind and percussion players on the University of Utah campus. The University of Utah Wind Ensemble, conducted by Professor Scott Hagen, will present Phillip Sparke’s “Concerto for Tuba”, along with other works including Percy Grainger’s “Molly on the Shore” and David Maslanka’s fourth symphony.
Coastal audiences have a remarkable opportunity to experience this exceptional ensemble. It is going to be a fabulous concert. The NSO is proud to have these superb musicians visiting Newport! I hope you make a point to welcome these fine young adults to our coast community with a great audience on Tuesday March 12, 7:00 PM at the PAC.
Tickets are $15 purchased in advance, $20 at the door, and all students admitted free. Tickets are available from the PAC box office at 541-265-2787.
I hope you’ll be able to join us and support the NSO,
Maestro Adam Flatt
