Semi rolls off Highway 20 at Olalla Road
A just loaded semi full of GP paper rolls drifted off the pavement of Highway 20 westbound at Olalla Road Friday afternoon. The truck’s wheels drifted just beyond the fog line and due to ZERO pavement beyond the fog line, slid down into a ditch which pulled the whole truck over.
A big-truck retrieval tow company came over from Albany and unloaded the multi-ton paper roll cargo inside the semi and eventually began removing the truck from the ditch.
Oregon highway fog lines usually mean there’s at least a little bit of pavement to the outside. But in some stretches of asphalt, the fog line means, that’s it. They’re ain’t no more, as this truck driver learned the hard way.
