State health officials are again warning Oregon residents to get their flu vaccination. Although the incidence of confirmed cases of flu in Oregon are said to be “moderate,” flu outbreaks on the east coast and deep south are quite high and pose a clear example of why it is critical that everyone get their flu shot. It’s reported that less than half of Oregonians have been vaccinated. The very young and the elderly are especially vulnerable to the flu.
Other medical reports indicate that a typical winter time novovirus is making the rounds as well, with its lower intestinal tract infection which produces diarrhea, stomach cramps and vomiting.
