Japanese dock on Washington’s west shore appears to be related to the one that beached in Newport last summer.
Hatfield Marine Science Center scientists have finally reached the beached Japanese dock that was torn loose during the March 11th Japanese Tsunami and was recently beached on the western shores of the Olympic National Park. Scientist’s say “sure looks like a twin to the one we dealt with last summer.”
However, they say this dock didn’t appear to bring with it any dangerous invasive species like the one that hit Oregon last summer did. Click here for Oregonian story.
