Do you dream of attending college but need help navigating the process?
Seashore Family Literacy, in conjunction with College Goal Oregon, is offering free assistance in completing the forms required to obtain federal financial aid (known as FAFSA – Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The event takes place on Saturday, January 12, from 10am to 2pm, at Seashore Family Literacy, 125 NW Spruce St. (on Hwy 34, across from City Hall) in Waldport, Oregon.
College Goal Oregon is a free event designed to help Oregon college-bound students and their families with the financial aid application process. Everyone is invited to attend this event, including high school seniors, current students, parents/guardians and adult learners. Financial aid volunteers will be on hand to help attendees complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Oregon Student Assistance Commission (OSAC) scholarship application.
Those planning to complete the FAFSA are asked to to bring their 2011 tax returns (for single students under 23, this includes parents’ tax returns). All information will be kept confidential.
