For wonderfully grown local produce and hand crafted gifts and lots more to delight the eye and palate, it’s the Newport Farmers Market every Saturday at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. It runs 10am to 2pm, right behind Newport High School.
Local boutique farmers from Lincoln and surrounding counties put out their best greens, fresh honey, spices, herbs, scrumptious baked goods, beautiful artwork, sculpture (your’re not done Christmas shopping, are you?) stunning photography, clothing, superb coffees and lots, lots more.
Yes, it is possible to have a year round farmers market on the coast. We don’t live in North Dakota where the thermometer heads below freezing for the winter and stays there. Our moderate coastal climate, along with hoop and green house technologies, allow our local farmers to grow garden fresh produce year round.
Visit the handiwork of local crafters and farmers that will delight your eye and your taste buds every Saturday at the Newport Farmers Market, all the way through the winter, 10-2 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.
