Charter is back up
10:34am
Charter has repaired its line at Otter Rock that connects Newport to Lincoln City. Internet, TV and Charter phone service is once again back up and running. The outage was over 12 hours.
Trees in a notoriously vulnerable area to high winds and saturated soils once again fell across Charter’s regional fiber optic cable that is strung between poles along Otter Crest Loop. The line was cut again, like last year, when another storm knocked out cable service to Lincoln County. The outage last year was also quite lengthy.
They don’t call it Cape Foulweather for nothing.
