Two people were cut out and pulled from their car that went off a steep embankment off Highway 34 near Alsea Wednesday afternoon. Oregon State Police report that Paul Harden, 26, from Corvallis was driving the vehicle eastbound near milepost 28 when it left the pavement and down a sixty foot embankment. Harden was seriously injured. His passenger, Joshua Roath, 35, also from Corvallis, was also injured but not seriously.
Harden was transported to the regional trauma center in Corvallis. Troopers report Harden was cited for drunk driving and that additional charges may be forthcoming.
