David Juenke gets 15 years behind bars for driving drunk and causing Highway 34 crash that injured a Waldport girl and her grandparents
Tidewater resident David Juenke has had his drivers license permanently revoked and was sentenced to nearly 15 years in prison for causing a head-on crash on Highway 34 last June while driving drunk. The OSP says Juenke’s ’83 pickup crossed over the center line well east of Waldport, injuring three people, one a 9 year old girl who is still recovering from her injuries.
The OSP says Juenke, 59, was eastbound on Highway 34 at milepost 16 when he failed to negotiate a curve. The pickup hit an oncoming car containing a Waldport area family nearly head-on. Injured was Katelyn Carlson, 9, and her grandparents, James and Jane Szabo. All three were wearing seat belts. Juenke was not and was seriously injured. Juenke was driving without his drivers license at the time because he had another DUII case pending.
