The National Weather Service is urging high profile vehicle drivers to be extremely cautious while driving Highway 101 and other coastal highways Sunday afternoon through the wee hours of Monday morning. The NWS is predicting high winds coming with a storm arriving Sunday night through Monday morning which will bring winds of 30 to 60 mph. The heaviest winds will come from the south and buffet near shore areas as well as headlands like Cape Foulweather, Cape Disappointment, Cape Meares and the Astoria Bridge.
The worst winds will arrive during the latter hours of Sunday night. The worst of it will have passed by sunrise Monday morning.
